Best hotels in Madonna di Campiglio: centre, near the lifts and alternatives. Prices, booking tips and how to get there for skiing in Trentino.

Madonna di Campiglio is Trentino’s flagship ski resort: 150 km of slopes, excellent ski schools, a charming pedestrian centre and a well-deserved reputation as one of the most refined mountain destinations in Italy. Here is how to choose the right accommodation.

The Resort Areas

Village Centre (Piazza Righi area)

The historic centre of Madonna di Campiglio is compact and easily walkable. The Cinque Laghi gondola departs from the southern edge of the village, and the 3-Tre chairlift (famous for the World Cup slalom) is a five-minute walk from the centre. This is the most convenient area for non-skiers and families who want easy access to restaurants and shops.

Centre prices (high season):

  • 5-star: 300-600 euros per room
  • 4-star superior: 200-380 euros
  • 4-star standard: 150-270 euros
  • 3-star: 100-180 euros

Campo Carlo Magno

About 2 km north of the village, Campo Carlo Magno is at slightly higher altitude (1,682 m vs 1,522 m) with direct access to the northern part of the ski area. The famous Hotel des Alpes (now closed) once hosted the crowned heads of Europe; today the area has several quality hotels at slightly lower prices than the centre.

Folgarida and Marilleva

A few kilometres south, Folgarida and Marilleva are integrated into the same ski circuit and offer significantly lower prices (30-50% less than Campiglio centre) with direct lift access. Ideal for families on a budget.

Best Hotels

Top End

Hotel Lorenzetti: a long-standing family hotel combining tradition and comfort, directly on the slopes. Ski-in ski-out access is a genuine rarity in Campiglio. Prices from 250 euros per room.

Biohotel Hermitage: sustainable luxury in a peaceful position. Certified organic, spa, and excellent local cuisine. From 280 euros.

Mid-Range

Hotel Bertelli: central, well-run, with good food and a welcoming atmosphere. From 160 euros per room.

Hotel Touring: reliable three-star in the centre, family-friendly, good value. From 120 euros.

Self-Catering

Apartments in Campiglio are harder to find than in other resorts but exist in the surrounding hamlets (Praso, Caderzone). Expect to pay 1,200-2,200 euros per week for a 4-person apartment.

Ski Packages

Many Campiglio hotels offer all-inclusive packages combining accommodation, ski pass and ski school. These can represent excellent value compared with booking separately, especially for families. Ask specifically for:

  • “Settimana bianca” packages (7 nights + 6-day pass)
  • Family packages with children’s ski school included
  • Early season deals in December

Getting to Madonna di Campiglio

  • By car: 90 minutes from Trento, 2.5 hours from Verona, 3 hours from Milan
  • By bus: regular service from Trento (1 hour 15 min)
  • By plane: Verona airport (2 hours), Innsbruck (2 hours), Milan Linate (3 hours)

When to Book

Christmas and February half-term fill up fast. For Christmas week, book by September. January and the first two weeks of March offer excellent snow with lower prices and fewer crowds.
